We’re Johan & Lorraine — a couple living in beautiful Curaçao who started Joy & Love Rentals with one simple goal: to help people explore the island with freedom and peace of mind.

If you're 17 or older, you don’t need a driver’s license to rent or ride our scooters in Curaçao.

Under 17? You’ll need a valid scooter/moped license to ride.

Yes! People in Curaçao are generally less rushed and more considerate on the road. Just pay close attention to the road surface, as there can occasionally be unexpected potholes.

If you stay alert, you’ll be totally fine.

We do, however, advise against riding at night, as many roads are not well lit.

Yes, a valid driver’s license is required for all drivers. International licenses are accepted as long as they are in English or accompanied by an official translation.

Yes, basic insurance is included.

Our minimum rental period is 3 days. For shorter rentals, feel free to reach out via WhatsApp — we may be able to help.

Yes, that’s possible! You can select an additional helmet when booking.

That said, most of our scooters are 50cc, which means they may struggle on steep hills when carrying two people. While it’s not forbidden, we recommend riding solo for the best performance and safety — especially if you're planning to explore the more hilly parts of the island.
